Santri Can Fight Hoaxes and Allegations on Muslims Being Terrorist with Literacy

Depok, MINA – Director of Education for Religious Schools and Islamic Boarding Schools (Pesantren) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Ahmad Zayadi has said santris can fight hoaxes and accusations of Muslims as terrorists through a literacy culture.

“It is time we cultivate the literacy to fight the hoaxes and accusations as terrorists directed against Muslims,” he told Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) on the sidelines of Santri Day celebrations organized by the Santri Writer community in Depok, south of Jakata, on Saturday (28/10 ).

Zayadi asserted, in the current millenial age, the youth must change the civilization of muscles by writing. “We have to fight thoughts with thoughts as well as writing with writing” he said.

This literacy strategy, said Zayadi became the focus of the celebration of santri Day second edition whose purpose is to raise the dignity of students and pesantren who are still considered weak and backwarded.

“Pesantren is great, a santri or a student at a traditional Muslim school or a strict follower of Islam is amazing, the services provided to the community is great, but all enjoyed by the santri community itself, the advantages are not known by many people, “He said.

The Santrinulis community with santrinulis.com media, a web-based/portal media for the young Muslim writers community, honed writing skills with various writings, in the form of opinions, tips, travel notes, fiction stories, and others.
