PM Najib Presents Contribution to Bangkok’s Ban Oou Mosque

Bangkok, 07 Dzulhijjah 1437/09 September 2016 (MINA) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today handed out a cash contribution to the Ban Oou Mosque here for refurbishment works.

The contribution was presented to the mosque’s secretary Muhammad Aziz, after Najib completed performing Friday prayers there.

He was joined by more than 200 local Muslims from the Thai capital.

Najib also chanted the salawat to signify the unity among Muslims.

Accompanying him were International Trade and Industries Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, among others.

Ban Oou Mosque is the first registered Mosque of Bangkok, built during the reign of King Rama IV.

The construction of this mosque has been linked to Muslim Indonesia, especially the contributions of orang or people from Java, in the past. (T/R07/R01)
