Peshmerga Forces Shoot Down ISIL Drone Near Mosul Front

Mosul, 18 Jumadil Akhir 1437/27 March 2016 (MINA) – The Kurdish Peshmerga forces shot down a drone from the Islamic State (ISIL/Daesh) on Friday evening near the Keske Junction on the Mosul frontline.

“Peshmerga forces managed to shoot down a aircraft used by Daesh (ISIL) to observe and photograph Peshmerga positions,” Islam Chali, a Peshmerga officer told ARA News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

The drone was used by ISIL to carry out surveillance on Peshmerga positions.

The Islamic State uses surveillance drones bought at the black market to spy on “enemy” positions.

Moreover, the ISIS group uses drone footage in their  videos against their enemies.
