Palestinian FM Appreciates King’s Efforts to Defuse Al-Aqsa Stalemate

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.

Cairo, MINA – Palestinian minister of foreign and expatriates affairs Riyadh Al-Malki expressed appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his continual efforts to protect Al-Aqsa mosque in Palestine, SPA reported.

The minister also thanked the kings and heads of state of Arab countries and regional organizations for their continuing and effective meddling to coerce Israel to respect the legal and historical status quo at Al-Aqsa mosque, which all harvested success.

In a key speech at the Arab foreign ministers extraordinary meeting in Cairo Friday, Al-Malki said that the occupied Al-Quds battle has flared up and will not cool down unless the Israeli occupation is eliminated, noting Israel’s 50-years long attempts to impose sovereignty on the holy city but in vain.

He said that through the latest aggressions and violations on Al-Aqsa mosque, Israel was planning to test the response of the Palestinian, Arab and Islamic nations, but, fortunately, first of all the Palestinians voiced that Al-Quds city and its sanctities belong to Palestinians and that Al-Quds is their capital.

He disclosed that the removal of the electronic restrictions following the pressure mounted from different directions proved that the issue of Palestine and Al-Quds is political rather than security-related. (T/RS5/RS1)
