The award was presented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno accompanied by Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita and Chairperson of KADIN Indonesia Rosan P. Roeslani.

The Hebron company has been in business for 15 years by importing food products from Indonesia, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

The company’s CEO, Mohsen Zalloum, expressed his high appreciation to Ambassador Andy. “Thank you to the Indonesian Ambassador and his staff who continue to make various efforts to improve Indonesia’s-Palestinian economic and trade relations,” Mohsen Zalloum said.

Mohsen also expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Trade and the Government of Indonesia who have acknowledged the efforts and hard work carried out over the past 15 years as loyal buyers for Indonesian products so that they can penetrate the Palestinian market.

Thanks are also conveyed to the Government of Indonesia for freeing import duties on Palestinian products in Indonesia, especially dates and olive oil, as reported by the Minister of Trade to the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the opening of the 2018 TEI event.

“The Primaduta Award is a program of the Government of Indonesia which was initiated in 2014, to give recognition and appreciation to importers or international buyers who have significantly contributed to the creation of the value of Indonesia’s exports,” said Ambassador Andy.

He explained that in 2017, TEI managed to record transactions of USD 1.41 billion, an increase of 37.36 percent from 2016. For 2018, the government targets a transaction of USD 1.5 billion with the presence of 28 thousand visitors from 125 countries.

Andy also emphasized that the 2018 Primaduta Award is very suitable to be given to Palestinian companies that have been doing business with Indonesia for 15 years.

Although Palestine is still under occupation and a prolonged blockade by Israel, it does not become a barrier or discourages Mohsen Zalloum from continuing to do business with Indonesia so that Palestine can become a prospective market for Indonesia’s superior products. (T/Sj/RS5)
