Palestine Fatah Movement Commends Egypt’s Bids to End Division

Palestinian factions in reconciliation bid

Ramallah, MINA – Palestinian Fatah movement, chaired by President Mahmoud Abbas, has commended Egypt for contributing to ending inter-Palestinian division and restoring national unity, KUNA reported.

Fatah’s central committee, meeting under chairmanship of Abbas in Ramallah Tuesday, expressed keenness on intensive dialogue with Egypt to iron out issues with Hamas.

One of the major issues was dissolving the administrative committee that was formed by Hamas several months ago, in order to allow the government of national consensus to operate, it said.

The committee members, the committee said in a statement, also discussed the upcoming UN General Assembly meetings in New York, US. (T/RS5/RS1)
