Over 1.4 Million Pilgrims Arrive in Holy Cities to Perform Hajj

Makkah, MINA -The total number of pilgrims who have arrived to perform Hajj from abroad until the end of Thursday reached 1,497,095 pilgrims.

The number indicates an increase of 367,095 pilgrims compared to the number of arrivals in the same period last year, or about 32%, according to statistics issued by the Directorate General of Passports (DGP).

The directorate added that the number of pilgrims arriving by air stood at 1,400,670 pilgrims, by land at 83,056 and by sea at 13,369, IINA reported.

Meanwhile, the total number of Hajj pilgrims who arrived in Madinah has reached 878,845, according to the daily statistics announced by The National Guides Establishment.
The Statistics and Reports Unit of the establishment noted that the number of pilgrims who arrived on Friday is 16,678, while 29,765 left for Makkah. The total number of departures to date is 673,809. The establishment pointed out that nationals from Bangladesh are the most present in Madinah with 21,785 in number.
The total number of pilgrims in Madinah as of Friday night is 171,978, which is a higher number compared to last year’s 144,983.(T/R04/P2)
