NEPAL VICTIMS RECEIVE IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FROM INDONESIAN TEAM

Sindhupalcowk, Nepal, 23 Rajab 1436/13 Mei 2015 (MINA) – Arrived in the Sindhupalcowk district in Nepal, the Indonesian humanitarian aid teams, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) and Wanadri held immediate treatment towards Nepal people.

The Team Leader, Salah sudrajat explained, on the first day, the post treatment was held in the region Keurini which is located at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level.

The devastating earthquake in Nepal makes ninety percent of the buildings were destroyed.

“The medical tent built at a building school which was destroyed by the earthquake,” said Salah in Keurini, Saturday (9/5).

The Keurni residents very enthusiastic to come to the post treatment as they need immediate help. Since the shelter opened, residents have seen queuing up to get treatments for their injuries that they have suffered due to exposure or crushed by debris.

A lot of medical procedure are performed by the team, Saturday. The number of patients reached 140 people with most cases are Neglected Lacerated Wound, Upper Respiratory Infection (ARI) and diarrheal infections.

 

The team of MER-C and Wanadri plan to settle one day in Keurini and will stay in a tent that had been built in front of the school building field where post treatment held. Tomorrow the team will move to other areas in Sindhupalcowk.

“We will move again to another area that is higher, roughly at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level,” said Islamiyah, a member of the team in charge of medical logistics.(L/P008/R04)
