Malaysian PM Denies Knowledge of Lobbying for Indonesian Siti Aisyah’s Release

Kuala Lumpur, MINA – Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said, he doesn’t know that the Indonesia did lobbying to free up Siti Aisyah, an Indonesian citizen who accused of killing Kim Jong-nam, half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

“I have no information,” he stressed when asked about the lobbying carried out by Indonesian government, The Start Online aired it on its YouTube account.

He said, the release of Aisyah was part of the court’s decision in accordance with the law.

“This (Aisyah’s release) was a court decision. So it was a process of the law. There is a right for prosecutors to withdraw their demands, ” Mahathir said.

Earlier, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly said, he had a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and Malaysian Attorney General Tommy Thomas to free Aisyah.
