Khalifa Foundation Organises Group Iftars in Jakarta and Aceh

Jakarta, 17 Ramadan 1437/22 June 2016 (MINA) – The UAE’s Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has organised a mass Iftar for 2,000 people in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.

The beneficiaries were citizens from the Bogor region.

According to national news agency WAM, the attendees thanked the UAE for providing assistance to Muslims in their country.

The program is held with the aim to enhance values of humanitarian solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan and emphasise the message of the foundation to support all those who live in dire conditions.

Two million people in UAE are expected to benefit from the seasonal meal project during the holy month of Ramadan, while more than 700,000 will benefit in 60 Arab and Muslim countries around the world.

Similar mass iftars were also held by the foundation and the Emirate Red Crescebt Society at Al-Muhajirin Mosque in Jakarta and at the Imam Shafi’ie Institute in Aceh. (T/R07/R01)
