Justice Minister: Saudi’s Judiciary Gets Full Autonomy to Handle Khashoggi Case

Riyadh, MINA – The Saudi Arabian’s judiciary gets full autonomy to handle the case of a Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi.

This is said by the Justice Minister of the Kingdom Waleed Al-Samaani in a statement issued by the state news agency Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Saturday (10/20), according to Arab News reported quoted by MINA.

Al-Samaani said that the Khashoggi case took place in the territory of Saudi sovereignty and would be seen by Saudi courts when all procedures are completed.

He added that the administration of justice is a permanent approach to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government will not deviate from this approach.

He said the Saudi’s judiciary is established based on the principles of Islamic law and the values of justice that govern justice.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Saudi Human Rights Commission Bandar Al-Aiban confirmed the directives issued by King Salman to reveal the case of Khashoggi’s disappearance as part of the investigation.

Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist who wrote critics about the rise of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, disappeared on October 2 after entering the consulate in Istanbul.

For his marriage to a Turkish woman, Khashoggi must have a divorce certificate with the previous wife of the Saudi consulate. Its existence remains unknown since then.

The previous SPA’s report reported that the Saudi government had admitted that journalist Jamal Khashoggi had died inside his consulate in the city of Istanbul, Turkey.

While Turkish media reports showed, Khashoggi was killed by 15 “killer teams” who flew with two charter planes from Saudi to interrogate, torture and kill him.

Over the past two weeks, Turkish intelligence has also revealed audio recordings that prove Khashoggi was killed inside a consulate building.

The Kingdom of Saudi has arrested a number of suspects and dismissed a number of its important officials, including the Advisor to the Royal Palace of Saud Al-Qahtani and Deputy Chief of Intelligence Ahmed Asiri. (T/Sj/RS5)
