Jakarta Receives More Former USAF F-16 Block 25 Fighters

Washington, 28 Jumaidl Akhir 1438/27 March 2017 (MINA) – Indonesia has received 18 of 24 Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 25 fighters that have been refurbished after USAF use.

The aircraft were delivered from the USAF’s Ogden Air Logistics Complex, flightglobal.com reported, citing a statement from the USAF,

The four most recent aircraft include three single seat ‘C’ jets and one tandem seat ‘D’ aircraft.

The remaining six aircraft will be delivered by the end of 2017. Prior to being refurbished, the aircraft accumulated an average of 5,000 hours before being retired and placed in storage in the Arizona desert.

Following a US Foreign Military Sales deal with Jakarta, extensive work was conducted at Ogden. The aircraft received new wings, horizontal stabilisers, landing gear, and other enhancements.
