Gaza, 8 Dzulhijjah 1435/3 October 2014 (MINA) – Committee of Detainees and Ex-detainees (CDE) reported that 85,000 imprisonment cases have been registered since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, on Sept. 28, 2000.

2,500 Palestinians have been detained since the kidnapping of the three Israeli soldiers in Hebron on June 12, 2014, Al-Resalah quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Detentions touched upon all classes of the Palestinian people, including patients, disabled, elderly and minors, CDE added. 10,000 minors under 18 have been counted, 250 of whom are still behind the Israeli bars and hundreds others are classified grownups now, as they spent their childhood in prisons.

Over 1,000 Palestinian females were detained, 4 of whom gave birth in prison in very tough conditions. 19 Palestinian female detainees are still being locked up behind Israel’s cells.

Israel’s forces detained 65 parliamentarians and ministers over the past period of time; most of them were sentenced to administrative detention, and 30 MPs are still detained, alongside with two ministers.

Israel re-detained Palestinian prisoners, who were freed in the Shalit-Palestinian prisoners swap deal in 2012. 73 are still in Israeli cells.

The CDE criticized the Israeli administrative detentions, saying that Israel issue 24,000 orders of administrative detentions.
