Islamic Bloc Urges Protection of Palestinians amid Unrest

Israeli security forces stormed the mosque last week, clashing with Palestinian worshippers.

Jeddah, MINA) – It is incumbent upon the international community to safeguard the Palestinian people and hold Israel accountable for its aggressions, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said on Monday, KUNA reported.

OIC member nation representatives assembled, amid an emergency session, where they vociferously condemned Israel’s violation of holy Islamic sites, including its closure of the sacrosanct Al-Aqsa Mosque, read a communique issued at the end of the meeting.

The statement noted that Israel has drastically altered the status quo to deprive Palestinians of their inalienable access to places of worship, while it underscored that Israel holds no legislative authority over Jerusalem.
