Iran Gets First New Airbus Plane After Nuclear Deal

Iran takes delivery of first new Airbus aircraft.

 

Tehran,14 Rabiul Akhir 1438/13 January 2017 (MINA) – Iran on Thursday got its first new Airbus plane after signing its nuclear deal with the world powers, the plane is part of a bargain which includes 100 Airbus ones.

Receiving this plane will lead to resume cooperation with the Airbus company after 38 years, said Iran Air Managing Director Farhad Parvaresh today.

Iran’s first purchased Airbus ‘A321’ in the post-sanction era landed in the capital’s Mehrabad International Airport early in the morning, Iranian official media outlets quoted Parvaresh as saying.

The delivery of the new plane will breathe a new life into Iran’s air fleet, he added.

All the aircraft have been purchased under a hire purchase contract, and Iran Air has supplied 85 percent of financial resources through foreign finance and 15 percent through domestic resources as well as the National Development Fund facilities by Bank of Industry and Mine, according to IRNA.
