Indonesian Actress: Women Learns to Wear Hijab Thanks to Hijab Trend

Jakarta, 25 Rabi’ul Akhir 1437/4 February 2016 (MINA) – Hijab which has become widely popular has left actress and tv ad star Elma Theana feeling proud and touched, but she mainly believes that women are now learning to wear hijab due to the trend.

The positive hijab trend development  in the fashion world, has affected in the establishment of hijabi communities throughout Indonesia, in which Theana believes that it it has made women to wear hijab, even when some of them are not wearing it permanently.

“What is important for me is that we start to wear the hijab,” Theana said through a WhatsApp messanger to Miraj Islamic News Agency (MINA) on Thursday in Jakarta.

“So even though hijab has become a trend now, they are still willing to wear it, especially within the circle of artists,” she said.

According to “Kawin Gantung” and “Tendangan Si Madun Returns” star, world hijab day which was celebrated by 140 countries on February 1st, shows that the world has started to welcome Islam.

“Women who cover themselves i think are more beautiful, elegant, an respectable. We can be poised individuals and can learn how to carry ourselves with our hijab and we can control our conducts more this way,” said the woman who had become a hijabi 11 years ago.

In the beginning of her journey of covering for Allah, Theana admits that she did not face any obstacle.

“I feel peace and calm in my heart, alhamdulillah I did not face any obstacle. Alhamdulillah it has been 11 years since I covered myself the first time,” she said. (L/Nth/P001/R03)
