Indonesia-India Commander Military Discuss Technology Transfer

South Black Lawns Headquarters, MINA – The Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto met with the Commander of the Indian Armed Forces Admiral Sunil Lanba at the South Black Lawns Headquarters, India on Monday.

Hadi Tjahjanto said he had time to discuss the current cooperative relations during his honorary visit to India, an official TNI statement said on Wednesday as reported by Anadolu Agency (AA).

One of them was a bilateral exercise between the Indonesian Army and the Indian Army under the name Garuda Sakti.

Meanwhile, the training between the Indonesian Navy and the Indian Navy with the code for the Sakti Ocean Exercise and Coordinated Patrol was named Indindo Coordinated Patrol.

In addition, said Hadi, the two countries also carried out multilateral activities such as Komodo 2016 in Padang and 2018 in NTB Lombok.

The TNI Commander hopes that this cooperation can also benefit for Indonesia, one of them is the cooperation in technology transfer.

According to the TNI Commander, the Indian defense industry has been very advanced, so that the TNI can learn from military cooperation in the field of technology transfer such as the maintenance of Russian SU-27 and SU-30 fighters.

The TNI Commander also expressed his gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces who actively participated in sending humanitarian aid to victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Palu City, Sigi, and Donggala, Central Sulawesi in September 2018.

The TNI Commander said that the Indian Armed Forces sent two C-17 Global heavy transport and C-130 Hercules. (T/Sj/P2)
