Indonesia Govt Decides 1 th Syawal  on Wednesday, July 6th

Jakarta, 29 Ramadan 1437/4 July 2016 (MINA) – Indonesia Government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided the first Shawwal 1437 falls on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. It was determinated after the Ithbat Assembly was performed at the MORA Office Thamrin, Jakarta, Monday.

“The government set the 1 Shawwal 1437 Hijriah falls on the day after, ( Wednesday), July 6, 2016. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is still fasting. This is what was agreed by all present parties, “said the Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, in the press conference.

In the conclave conducted by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim delivered the reports of 90 points to see the new moon across Indonesia that the moon is not visible.

“It is known based on the position of the new moon on the 29th of Ramadan is under the horizon, minus 0 degrees 45 minutes and minus 0 degrees 49 minutes,” he said.

The Ramadan this year is completed to 30 days. The Meeting was attended by Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Ma’ruf Amin, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Chairman of Commission VIII the House of Representatives and some leaders of religious organizations.
