INDONESIA GOVERNMENT DECIDES EID AL-ADHA ON 24 SEPTEMBER

Jakarta, 1 Dzulhijjah 1436/14 September 2015 (MINA) – The Government of Indonesia decided 1 Dzulhijjah on 15 September 2015, and Eid Al-Adha falls on 24 September 2015.

The determination made by the Minister of Religious Affairs  represented by the Director General of Islamic Guidance Machasin. The observation of rukyat and hisab team from all provinces, Ministry of Religious Affairs reported they did not see the new moon.

Thus, Dzulqa’dah month is 30 days, and the 1st Dzulhijjah 1436 falls on  Tuesday, 15 September 2015. The decision officially announced in Religious Affairs office Jl. MH Thamrin No.6 Jakarta, Sunday (13/9).

“Because we do not see the new moon, so Dzulqa’dah fulfilled to 30 days, and the 1st Dzulhijjah 1436 falls on a Tuesday, 15 September 2015,” said Machasin.

The Ithbat session was attended by the Chairman of the MUI Fatwa Commission, Prof. Khuzaymah T. Yanggo, leaders of Islamic organizations and a number of ambassadors of Islamic countries.

Machasin said, If any organizations decided Eidul Adha on Wednesday, 23 september 2015, we have to respect it, because we have experience with the differences, so we must maintain unity among Muslims.

Meanwhile, Khuzaimah said there is any  potential difference between Eid in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, because they have differences matla ‘. (L/P008/P007/R03)
