Hamas, Fatah Reaches Agreement at Cairo Talks

Gaza, MINA – After two days of deliberations, Palestinian Hamas movement and Fatah reached an agreement regarding a political reconciliation sponsored by Egypt, KUNA quoted Chairman of Hamas Politburo Ismail Haniya as saying Thursday.

Haniya, at a news conference in Cairo, said that unity talks between the two Palestinian factions began last Tuesday, and an agreement was reached, but did not give more details on the agreement.

Local reports mentioned details on the agreement will be announced this afternoon in a press conference.

Egypt has helped mediate several attempts to reconcile the two Palestinian sides and form a power-sharing unity government in Gaza and the West Bank. (T/RS5/RS1)
