Hamas Calls On Abbas To Start Implementing Reconciliation Agreement

Gaza, 5 Sya’ban 1437/13 May 2016 (MINA) – The Palestinian Legislative Council member of Hamas Movement Mushir al-Masri called on Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas to start implementing the reconciliation agreement and to put an end to the internal division.

Speaking to Quds Press, al-Masri said that Abbas has the key to implement the reconciliation agreement, to hold the provisional leadership framework, to activate the Palestinian Legislative Council, and to hold elections, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The reconciliation doesn’t need more negotiations, he added, accusing Fatah Movement of linking its position towards reconciliation with the American and Israeli positions.

“Hamas has no problem if the unity government bears its full and not partial responsibilities.” “We are not scared of elections. We fully trust our people,” al-Masri underlined.

He pointed out that the victory of Hamas’s student wing in the elections at Birzeit University proves the Movement’s growing popularity despite “the PA and Israeli war against its members and supporters in the occupied West Bank.” (T/P008/R03)
