Jerusalem, MINA – Israeli Blue and White Party Chairman Benny Gantz meets with the White House peace envoy to Middle East Jason Greenblatt at the United States (US) Embassy in Jerusalem.

The meeting on Monday afternoon, September 23 was also attended by the US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Jewish Telegraph reports.

Gantz’s party is the top winner in Israel’s national elections last week and has a great chance of becoming the next Prime Minister of Israel.

Greenblatt, Friedman, and Gantz “held discussions on a variety of topics, including the importance of US-Israel relations, security challenges in the region and efforts to promote peace,” according to a Blue and White party statement.

Greenblatt met on Friday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose party is the second in the vote on Tuesday.

Greenblatt, the architect of Trump administration’s Israeli-Palestinian peace plan, announced earlier this month that he would step down from his position to return to his family and private sector.

Trump administration says it will release an Israeli-Palestinian peace plan in the days after the election in Israel, although no date has been announced. (T/Sj/P2)
