Gaza, MINA – Egyptian security delegation on Thursday held a meeting and consultation in the Gaza Strip to consolidate a ceasefire between Palestinian factions and Israeli occupation.

The ceasefire was intended to ease tensions and reach an understanding aimed at lifting the blockade in the Gaza Strip, according to Safa’s report.

The delegation arrived yesterday via the Beit Hanoun or Erez checkpoint and immediately met with Hamas leader in his commander’s office, Gaza, Yahya al-Sunwar. He then continued with another long meeting with factions in the Gaza Strip.

The visit came after a day of Israeli escalation and attacks on the Gaza Strip, and launch of subsequent resistance rockets in the Gaza enclave and Tel Aviv.
