Cairo, 22 Rabi’ul Awwal 1437/2 January 2016 (MINA) – Fifteen people lost their lives when a ferryboat sank in the Nile River on Friday in the northern province of Kafr al-Sheikh, a senior police officer told Anadolu Agency.

General al-Sayyed Nasr also said that three people were injured, Anadolu Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The cause of the accident is still not known, but local media quoted a police source who said the boat could have been overloaded.
