Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Calls for Rain Prayers on Monday

Riyadh, MINA – The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has called for the performance of Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayers all over the kingdom on Monday, dated Safar 17, 1439 H corresponding to Nov 6, 2017 G, SPA reported Friday, citing the Royal Court in a statement issued on Thursday.

The statement said the performance of Istisqa prayers is good pursuant to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The king called on all to pray to Allah Almighty for repentance, forgiveness, and rain.

According to Prophet’s Sunnah (Traditions), “Istisqa” prayers are conducted in the event of drought or delay in rainfall. (T/RS5/RS1)
