Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Constitutional Court will speed up the decision related to the lawsuit of General Election Results Dispute (PHPU).

The reason of the trial of dispute over the results of 2019 Presidential Election to be on Thursday, June 27, 2019, because it was purely an internal consideration from Constitutional Justices. The schedule for reading the verdict was advanced one day previously planned on Friday 28 June.

“The question of why was chosen on the 27th, yes, it is purely an internal consideration by the panel of judges to ensure that the verdict is ready to be read on the 27th. If ready, why should we wait for the 28th,” MK spokesman Fajar Laksono said on Monday, as quoted from Sindonews.

“This means that there are no other things that are beyond the consideration of Constitutional Court which are considered to read the verdict on the 27th. Solely, because of readiness aspect of the panel of judges,” he added.

Fajar also ensured that the Constitutional Justices would still hold a Judicial Consultation Meeting (RPH) until Wednesday. Because, said Fajar, there were still some things that still need to be discussed in RPH.

“The RPH still continues until today, Tuesday, Wednesday. That is still happening. It is still being held because there are indeed some things that must be discussed in the RPH. So, we make sure that the RPH will continue until Wednesday, until the verdict is pronounced, including by finalizing the decisions that will be read out, “he said. (T/Sj/P2)
