Azerbaijan Promotes Religious Tourism in Tangerang City

Tangerang City, MINA – The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia, Ruslan Nasibov as the main speaker at the International Seminar with themed “Ukhuwah Islamiyah with friendly countries and to Maintain National Integrity” which was held by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Tangerang City.

The International Seminar which is a routine activity of the Ukhuwah Islamiyah Commission and Inter-Organization Relations of the Tangerang City MUI was held at the MUI Building in Tangerang City on Saturday, September 28.

In his presentation, Ruslan Nasibov introduced religious tourism destinations in the country nicknamed the Land of Fire.

“Azerbaijan has historical sites of Islamic heritage that worth visited by pilgrims,” ​​he said.

In particular, he offered seminar attendees to visit the number of historic relics in his country.

Pilgrims can visit Ashabul Kahfi caves, Old Town, Shirvan Palace, Khan Palace, and Nizami Ganjavi.

At the location 12 km away from the town of Nakhchivan, there are mountains between Ilandang and Nahajir, the natural cave where Ashabul Kahfi is secluded, which in Arabic means “Cave Man”.

There is information in ancient religious literature, and also in our Holy Qur’an that the place with the same name in Asia Minor or Palestinian, Syrian, and Turkish regions.

The old city is in the middle of Baku. In this area, there are more than 50 monuments and historic buildings from various eras. Shirvan Palace, Tower of Girls, Tower of Sinig has been preserved until now.

He also described the demographics of Azerbaijan which had oil resources, as well as the geography became the cross between Russia, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

“Multiculturalism which is always promoted by Azerbaijan that reflected through the colors and symbols of the country,” he said.

He also stated that Azerbaijan is the first Islamic state that becomes a parliamentary democracy and a pioneer of women’s empowerment by giving the portion in government.

The country was established in 1918-1920 after being separated from the Soviet Union in 1991.
