As 170 Ambassadors Attend 2019 Indonesia Election Dissemination

Jakarta, MINA – At least 170 Ambassadors and representatives of Indonesia friendly countries on Tuesday attended the dissemination of Simultaneous General Elections in 2019 organized by Indonesia Central Election Commission (KPU) and Indonesia Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the KPU Head Office, Menteng , Central Jakarta.

“In 2019 Indonesia will hold elections simultaneously. “The legislative and presidential elections are held on the same day,” said KPU Chairman, Arief Budiman to the Ambassador and Representative of friendly countries.

On the occasion, Arief presented general information about the simultaneous elections in 2019. Starting with the number of participants in the election, the number of seats contested, election organizers and the number of officers, up to the 2019 Concurrent Election system which was the largest election in the world. “Because we have to serve 192,828,520 voters in one day,” Arief said.

There were 16 national political parties participating in the election this year, while four local Aceh parties also participated in the election. In addition, Arief also introduced pairs of candidates for president and vice president and their supporting parties.

Meanwhile, the mechanism for voting abroad, Arief said, voting abroad was carried out with three methods, namely the post, the Foreign Voting Station (TPSLN) and the Mobile Voting Box (KSK).

“I explain this because we will also be voting for our citizens who are in your own country,” Arief said.

Arief also expressed his gratitude for any assistance given from the country during the Indonesian elections abroad.

Simultaneous Election 2019 Indonesia abroad will take place earlier that is on April 8-14 2019. While the domestik election will take place on Wednesday, April 17 and this is a new history for Indonesia, because for first time of election member of DPR, provincial DPRD, district DPRD or the city, the DPD, and the president and vice presidential elections were held on the same day.
