Ambassador Donovan Launches 4th Annual Education USA Graduate Fair

Jakarta, MINA – United State’s Ambassador to Indonesia Joseph R. Donovan Jr. along with Paulina Pannen, M.Ls. (Expert – Higher Education) from Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education inaugurated the fourth annual EducationUSA graduate fair in Jakarta. 

According to a statement received by MINA on Monday (17/9), Donovan emphasized the importance of education to the US-Indonesia strategic partnership. 

He highlighted the number of prestigious, top-ranked schools in the world located in the U.S. as well as the U.S. being the leader in research and development funding along with the high quality facilities and faculties among the advantages of studying in the United States.

More than 1,370 students attended the graduate fairs in Malang (September 13) and Jakarta. Twenty-five universities from across the U.S. participated in the fair, which promoted graduate school programs at both public and private universities. 

These fairs are part of the U.S. Mission to Indonesia’s efforts to increase the number of Indonesians studying in the U.S. and to strengthen people-to-people ties. 

“There is no better way to understand one another, and our cultures, and to prepare our children for the 21st century workplace, than by sharing the experience of learning together in an American classroom,” said Ambassador Donovan.

EducationUSA is a global network of more than 450 advising centers in 170 countries, supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
