Abbas Starts Three-Day Official Visit to Bangladesh

Dhaka, 02 Jumadil Awwal 1438/02 February 2017 (MINA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday arrived in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka for a three-day official visit, after concluding a similar visit to Pakistan.

Accoring to WAFA, Abbas was received by his Bangladeshi counterpart President Abdul Hamid and other top officials.

Abbas is accompanied by Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki, presidential counselor for religious affairs Mahmoud al-Habbash, presidential counselor for diplomatic affairs Majdi al-Khaldi, in addition to acting ambassador of Palestine to Bangladesh Yousef Ramadan.

During his visit, the Palestinian president will hold talks with President Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during his visit. They are expected to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.

Bangladesh is a staunch supporter of Palestine’s cause and the establishment of the State of Palestine on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
